Piya kicked off his career in energy and environment in 2013 as a Fulbright research fellow where he conducted a life cycle environmental and economic assessment of electric motorcycles in Thailand. Since then, he has worked on a wide variety of clean energy and international development assignments in Thailand and Myanmar covering solar mini-grids, rural electrification, smart grids, regulatory reform of electricity and water sectors in Southeast Asia, and regional clean energy conferences. Piya’s primary expertise is in life cycle assessment and its application in measuring the environmental performance of circular production and consumption systems.
Piya has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Piya is based in Bangkok, Thailand.
