ACE Partners attends the 2nd meeting of JGSEE’s Industrial Advisory Committee on University-Industry
On 9 August, Dr. Peter duPont, a Managing Partner at ACE Partners, attended the 2nd Industrial Advisory Committee meeting of the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE). JGSEE is a consortium of five Thai universities, housed at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), which serves as an international education and research center in the field of energy and environment.
The IAC meets regularly with senior members of KMUTT and JGSEE to discuss strategies for linking its academic program with Thai and regional industry. In this IAC meeting, members discussed the challenges in education and training of high-level manpower, and a new design for JGSEE’s Ph.D. program, combined with a broader platform for adult learning based on an “outcome-based” approach.
Drawing on its linkages with corporations and organizations working in the energy sector, the IAC is advising JGSEE and KMUTT on strategies for involving its Ph.D. students in practical engagements and skills development with corporate partners through internships, adult education, and company “co-op” assignments.
